Why Your Head Table Should be a Focal Point at Your Wedding
Your head table will be one of the most important elements on your wedding day. Yet, so many couples think of it as an afterthought! After your read through our reasons below, I think you’ll agree on why your head table should be a focal point at your wedding.
It’ll be the Focus
Your head table will typically consists of multiple long rectangular tables. These tables take up a lot of space which automatically makes it the focus of the room. Not only should we consider the size but we should also think of the placement. Where will the head table be? Your head table will either be in the center of the room or right at the front. When your guests walk in, eyes will be drawn right to it! Regardless if you dress up your head table or not, it will be the focus of the reception.
Who is Sitting at the Table? YOU!
That’s right, the most important people at this event will be seated at the head table; that’s you guys! Eyes will naturally wonder towards the head table as guests look to see the new Mr. and Mrs.. There will also be many events that will take place at the head table. Speeches, toasts, you name it. They all happen at your head table. Because of this, these tables will be photographed A LOT. Trust me, as a wedding florist who has received hundreds of galleries, the most photographed tables are the head tables. You’ll have these photos for a lifetime so it is important to make sure your head table is a beautiful and eye catching focal point.
It Naturally Brings Everyone Together
Once dinner is finished and toasts are made, guests often head to the dance floor. Your dance floor will be right by your head table. A beautifully designed hanging installation, floral garland, or canopies can help encourage guests to get out of their seats and start dancing. They will want to see your head table arrangements up close! You don’t know how many times I come to the reception to tear down to find guests walking around the reception viewing each of the table arrangements up close. You’ll want to make sure that your head table is one of them.
