personal flowers

Designing flowers for two people who are in love is my absolute favorite thing to do. Although a large part of my job is arranging beautiful flowers, there is also a huge part of my business where I’m figuring out how to design within budgets. Budgets are important and need to be respected. Each wedding and couple is different from the next and their needs can range drastically. I’m proud that I am able to provide customizable wedding packages for all my brides so that we can really serve them in the best way possible.

During the client experience process, we go over quantity, quality, and scale and customize each pricing proposal based on their entire floral budget and priorities. It is very rare that I get a couple that can afford everything on their wish list. We often have to remove or simplify designs in order to stay within their budget.

This is something that is normal and almost every couple I work with go through it. Over the years I have picked up a trick or two to help my couples receive the most out of their flowers for their wedding celebration.

The number one piece of advice I always bring up to my couples is: ditch the personal flowers. Your boutonnieres, the corsages, flower crowns, and even bridesmaid bouquets. Although personal flowers have been a wedding tradition for what seems like forever, we are seeing a change in the wedding industry where more and more weddings are going without. For the average wedding (mine averages from 5-8k budgets) my couples will often spend over $1,000.00 on their personal flowers. This is a large chunk of money that really only gets to shine for 20 minutes during the ceremony.

There are lots of other creative ways we can honor our parents, grandparents, and wedding party. I have a few of my favorites listed below.

For moms, grandmas, and bridesmaids I love it when my brides gift them jewelry or monogrammed floral robes. These items will be treasured forever and still provide a great photo op.

For the men in the wedding party my favorite thing I’ve seen is matching socks, ties, or pocket squares. Again, items that can be worn and used for years to come.

It may seem strange for a florist to suggest to a couple to NOT use flowers, but I have found that putting your overall budget into the ceremony and reception will provide a better guest experience.

Highly recommend Roots Floral Design - absolutely beautiful!

“Kaytee is an absolute GEM! She has so much passion and care for what she does, that you feel like she's a friend more than a vendor. She walks you through each step of the floral process with organization, examples, cost, and detail -- all things that make my detail-oriented heart happy. The end result far exceeded anything we could have hoped for or imagined. ALL. THE. GREENERY. Future brides, run, don't walk to Roots for your wedding. From start to finish, she took care of every single floral need to make our day positively beautiful.”

FROM START TO FINISH, SHE TOOK CARE OF EVERY SINGLE FLORAL NEED.

"Kaytee became so much more than a vendor for us. The first time I met her I felt as though I met a long lost friend. She was the very first vendor I chose for the wedding (even before the venue) and she lived up to all my expectations and went above and beyond.  Each time I met with her I felt confident that she completely comprehended my wants and would fashion them into something that looks put together, yet natural. The day-of she silently transformed a bland rustic space into an enchanting, romantic barn. I couldn't have asked for anything more beautiful or unique."

"Kaytee was so great to work with!!! I provided her with some floral inspirations from Pinterest and Instagram but gave her a lot of free rein coming up with the flowers for our wedding and she went above and beyond expectations. Our photographer was obsessed with all the bouquets and we got so many great pictures of them! She did such a good job making my smaller budget work to make high impact arrangements. She's also the sweetest person to be around!"
