We are so excited to have Alex Buzek, from Alex Marie Photography, taking over our blog today to share with us her favorite wedding tip! Alex is a Cincinnati girl who loves margaritas, rescue puppies, and long naps (this sounds like our kind of girl!). She is engaged to her fiancee she met freshman year in college and after 9 years of love they are planning their own wedding. She has been in business for 4 years and has specialized in weddings for two years. She captures beautiful, authentic moments so that her couples can have and cherish them for a lifetime.
“Something I cannot recommend enough is having an engagement session with your wedding photographer.  This is actually something I have built into my contracts and it is nonnegotiable so couples cannot exchange them for a refund and they cannot use the session towards something else it is literally a gift that I get to my couples because it enhances their wedding photography experience so much.
 
Can you imagine on your wedding day, one of the most important days of your your life, having someone show up to photograph it and you have never even met them before?
 
The last feeling that I ever want my couples to feel as uncomfortable. Having an engagement session establishes trust and builds the relationship. When your photographer walks into the room on your wedding day you want to feel like that is your friend and they’ve got your back. I know that is how I want to feel!
It also makes your photographers job easier because they will already know exactly how the couple interacts so they know well in advance whether a couple is silly, flirty, quiet and shy,  or even insecure over certain things and they will be prepared to pose and direct with those things in mind!
 
The session also guarantees that you will have images that you love on your wedding day because an engagement session is just practice!! There’s absolutely no way to ruin it! So when the wedding day is here- you will feel like a pro and your only job is to relax, enjoy your day and have fun!”
