Nick + Summer
Last summer, I had the amazing opportunity to work with a couple who planned an absolutely gorgeous destination wedding in the mountains. Nick and Summer celebrated their love in mid-July with their closest friends and family (less than 20 people total!) and it was more of a wedding weekend than just a wedding day!
Although they lived out of state, we were able to plan their whole wedding over lots of emails and Facetime sessions. They grew up going to the same cabin every year and wanted to get married there! They even held a beautiful rehearsal dinner the night before with greenery and aspen chandeliers. The day of their wedding was warm and intimate, as they said their vows in the middle of a field — and they needed to take a ski chairlift to even get there!
The reception that followed was held at the top of the mountain, and everyone had a big brunch the next morning. We used a lot of foraged greenery and branches for their floral decor and used in-season flowers to bring in some color. It was one of my favorite weddings last summer and I had such a blast creating their wedding flowers! We used aspen branches, dahlias, lisianthus, maiden hair fern, yarrow, heuchera, astrantia, ranunculus, and scabiosa.
