Courtney shares, “After wedding planning in Columbus, and the surrounding areas for the past several years, I have stumbled across several of the best hidden gems this great state has to offer. I can’t wait to share some of my favs!

Swan Lake Event Center

Head slightly north of the city and you will stumbled across a piece of God’s country! Swan Lake sits on 20 acres. The property has tons of outdoor ceremony locations. There is a pond (with swans!), a spacious bridal suites, and a beautiful indoor reception space showcasing cathedral barrel vaulted ceilings. This indoor space has abundant natural light and spacing for 300 guests. If you are looking for a timeless, breathtaking space with outdoor options, look no further!

Rusty River

If you are envisioning an outdoor paradise in the country, you gotta check out Rusty River Barn. With both clean and modern vibes along with rustic elements, it is a beautiful venue. About an hour north of Columbus, this country scenery is bound to give your guests all the midwest vibes. Multiple indoor/outdoor sites available through two separate venues on site. A beautiful white space with tons of natural light, or a grand rustic wooden barn, pick your fancy, either one will not disappoint.

Ohio Statehouse

I might be a little biased here, but you can’t start planning a wedding in the heart of Columbus, without checking out The Ohio Statehouse! This government building houses the most EPIC ceremony/reception locations this city has to offer!  Packed with as much history as it has beauty, this place is guaranteed to make your Aunt Joan (and the other 250 guests it can hold) gasp when she walks in. From the elegance radiated through the Atrium, by large columns influenced by Greek Revival Architecture, (and screaming to be dawned with greenery), or the breathtaking Rotunda that allows you to create an inclusive, intimate ceremony your guests will never forget.

Athletic Club

You don’t have to travel all the way to England to get the 1920’s Victorian elegance you might be craving for your big day. The exquisite woodwork, large windows draped with lush, rich fabric, a grand staircase (again, begging to be draped with greenery) and gold accents, you’re sure to fall in love with all the details the ACC has to offer! With spaces to accommodate around 250 guests, onsite hotel rooms for getting ready, as well as a place to stay for your families, and the perfect after-party bowling alley on site, this venue is sure to meet all your wedding day needs.”
