I’m always trying to help my couples maximize their budget when it comes to their wedding reception flowers. Although most of my couples have healthy budgets, it is rare that I come across a bride who can afford everything she wants on her wish list. This is expected and completely normal, flowers are expensive! Despite this fact, there are many ways we still have dreamy floral arrangements throughout your wedding day and stick to your budget.

The biggest piece of advice I give to my couples is to ditch their personal flowers for their wedding party. To read more about the “why”, read my past blog posts here. The next piece of advice I would give to my bride and her family would be to put the majority of her flower budget towards her wedding reception decor.

Although the ceremony is the most important part of the wedding day, it is often the shortest. An average ceremony ranges from 10-30 minutes. Couples have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on their ceremony decor. Although it makes for a great view walking down the aisle, I can’t help think of the waste that it really is. Luckily, there are ways to reuse your ceremony decor for the reception so you can get more bang for your buck. You can read more about those tips in my blog post here.

The reception is really where you and your guests will be spending most of their time at. Receptions can last any where from 4-6 hours and usually there is a sit down formal dinner beforehand. Allowing your wedding to have an amazing guest experience will allow your family and friends to remember your wedding years after it takes place.

The Venue

Venues often need a little color or softness brought in. Whether they are exposed and industrious, modern and sleek, or natural and rustic; chances are your wedding venue could use a little something something to help liven it up. Flowers are the perfect way to add color and a little bit of organic-ness from the outdoors. I always say that we need to bring the outdoors in, and what better way to do that than with flowers.

The Tables

If you aren’t going to place flowers, what else will you decorate your tables with? Most of my brides don’t have the time to go around store to store finding cute but cheap decor for their wedding decorations. Plus, the wedding trend has become to simplify your wedding decorations, not bulk it up. What used to be the lanterns, wine bottles, and pictures of the couple to grace the tables; brides are now finding that a beautiful floral centerpiece will do. More than likely, you will save time and money just hiring a florist to create your dream wedding table flowers.

The Guest Experience

Modern wedding couples are realizing that although this day is about their love and future, it also has to be about the family and friends who helped shape and mold their lives.
