First, flowers are perishable living organisms and require a lot of attention and careful handling. This means that they start their journey with a farmer who tills the earth, trims and waters the plants, and inspects for insects and disease daily.

It also takes time for a seed to grow into bloom with stems long and durable enough for floral design — sometimes up to ten years! And once the plant is ready, farmers cut the mature blooms and ship them all over the world to wholesale companies. While it is truly a miracle for local florists be able to get fresh, gorgeous blooms from countries like Japan, Italy, Ecuador, Holland or somewhere else, it does mean that flowers have often traveled all over the world before reaching my studio. That’s a lot of caring hands and processing time!

Since all blooms need to be shipped to where I live, I need to repeat the process for each set of blooms to ensure freshness and longevity. I do this because I care about the quality of work I create for each of my clients and believe that every couple deserves only the best for the biggest day of their lives.

There are three key things that I factor when pricing my work: design, quality, and time. My designs are non-traditional and modern. They have a garden-style vibe that is highly sought out. My products and tools are also top-of-the-line quality; the mechanics are solid and the flowers are truly the best. And not only do my flowers take time to get to me, but my own time is valuable. I spend many hours taking special care of each variety of flower, ensuring they are kept at the right temperature, placed in Chrysal-fed water, and that each stem is processed correctly — all of which takes time away from my family and other personal passions.
