Each client that we work with get their very own floral ingredient list. This ensures that every wedding we are apart of is truly unique and special. Even though each arrangement I create is the only of its kind, there is still a flower recipe that I stick to to ensure that every design has that adventurous, romantic, and organic touch to it.

Greenery

The first stems I grab when starting an arrangement are greenery. Greenery helps provide the shape and overall feel to a design.  The first step in getting that adventurous shape or organic vibe, is to start with the greens. Greenery is one of the most underused blooms in the wedding industry. It can add so much interest and dimension to an arrangement. I find when I add in organic and textured greenery, my arrangements are enhanced and given a beautiful shape that otherwise would have left the arrangement looking flat. Greenery allows each arrangement I design to have its own shape, allowing each arrangement to be completely unique to you and your wedding day.

Focal Blooms

After I know my shape and the kind of feel I want to achieve, I grab the focal flowers. These guys are the yummy, mouthwatering, eye candy blooms. They are the flowers that everyone wants for their wedding day. They are the largest blooms in an arrangement and by placing them in first, I can have a better sense of the overall outcome of the design and also avoid damaging the more delicate blooms later on. These flowers will be the anchor to an arrangement. I make sure that their color, size, and shape are just perfect so we don’t overwhelm the viewer.

Secondary Focal Blooms

These flowers have a similar shape and color palette to focal blooms, but they are much smaller in size. This allows for dimension and depth to be achieved in an arrangement. Layering flowers can allow a story to be told that will leave the viewer staring.

Accent Textural Blooms

I personally like to call these group of blooms “the secret ingredient”, because I feel like most florists don’t take enough advantage of these flowers. I love to have an organic and natural element in my arrangements. These accent textural blooms can be soft and subtle like berries or hard and rough like thistle. These blooms are usually tucked in or placed around the outer edges of an arrangement. They provide dimension and help add in that natural feel without being too overwhelming.

Accent Whimsy Blooms

These are the final elements that go into an arrangement. They are delicate, so I place them in last so they don’t get damaged. These blooms are soft, light, airy, and create movement as you walk down the aisle or blow gently in the wind. These blooms are placed up and high in a design. They usually are found dancing around at the top or sides. They help bring in that romantic and soft element.

The Final Touch

Sometimes the final details are what is most important. No bouquet in my eyes is ready until she has her ribbon on. Most brides don’t think about ribbon, but I believe it is one of the most important elements in making a bouquet go from good to amazing. Ribbon allows movement and adds a sense of whimsy to your flowers. The color of the ribbon will capture the soft and romantic elements in your bouquet and can also help tie in the rest of the wedding colors. The ribbon I use is hand dyed from plants, allowing the color and feel to be organic and soft.

Just like ribbon is the final touch for a bouquet, a vessel is the final touch for an arrangement. Again, most of my brides don’t think about the vases that their centerpiece will go in; but I feel that it is so important. Centerpiece vessels will determine the vibe and feel of a wedding. Is it elegant? Organic? Casual? Luckily I have a huge love for vessels and have an abundance of them so my couples and I together can pick out the best one for their wedding.

“Kaytee is an absolute GEM! She has so much passion and care for what she does, that you feel like she's a friend more than a vendor. She walks you through each step of the floral process with organization, examples, cost, and detail -- all things that make my detail-oriented heart happy. The end result far exceeded anything we could have hoped for or imagined. ALL. THE. GREENERY. Future brides, run, don't walk to Roots for your wedding. From start to finish, she took care of every single floral need to make our day positively beautiful.”

FROM START TO FINISH, SHE TOOK CARE OF EVERY SINGLE FLORAL NEED.

"Kaytee became so much more than a vendor for us. The first time I met her I felt as though I met a long lost friend. She was the very first vendor I chose for the wedding (even before the venue) and she lived up to all my expectations and went above and beyond.  Each time I met with her I felt confident that she completely comprehended my wants and would fashion them into something that looks put together, yet natural. The day-of she silently transformed a bland rustic space into an enchanting, romantic barn. I couldn't have asked for anything more beautiful or unique."

"Kaytee was so great to work with!!! I provided her with some floral inspirations from Pinterest and Instagram but gave her a lot of free rein coming up with the flowers for our wedding and she went above and beyond expectations. Our photographer was obsessed with all the bouquets and we got so many great pictures of them! She did such a good job making my smaller budget work to make high impact arrangements. She's also the sweetest person to be around!"
