Wedding Details Checklist | Why Photographing Them Matters

Your wedding photos will be one of the most important investments you make for your special day. As a wedding vendor myself, I know how important it is to hire the right vendor for your event. Photography is no different. Hiring the right photographer is so important to ensure you have all your favorite wedding day memories are captured perfectly. Today, we will go over your wedding details checklist and why photographing these special and unique details matter.

Photos are Forever

It’s true! While earrings may be lost and perfume bottles emptied, photos last a lifetime. In 50 years when you look back on your wedding photos, wouldn’t it be fun to see what perfume you wore? What you chose for your jewelry? Did you have any family heirlooms that you incorporated? Photos protect those tangible objects and allow you to opportunity to reflect on them. And how interesting would it be to see what styles and perfume preferences has changed since then!

Wedding Details Checklist

I’ve teamed up with Kelli Lynn Photography, a Lexington wedding photographer, to have her share her favorite wedding details to photograph.

Kelli shares,”Your wedding day details are so important! The details are more than pretty things, they help to tell the story of your day! Often times brides and grooms will incorporate special heirlooms into their details as well, such as a grandmothers handkerchief, mothers ring, dad’s cuff links or even old family photographs. These details hold so much value and history and help to make your wedding day even more special!”
Here is a list of wedding details that Kelli loves to photograph.
For Brides:
  • Wedding Dress
  • Wedding Shoes
  • Jewelry; necklace, earrings, bracelets, etc.
  • Invitation Suite
  • Flowers
  • Perfume Bottle
  • Something borrowed and something blue
  • Rings- engagement and wedding bands
  • Hair pieces
  • Veil
  • Gift to or from groom
  • Special heirloom pieces like:
    • Mother’s or grandmothers ring
    • Handkerchief
    • Old photographs from parents or grandparents weddings
    • Little trinkets or dishes
For Grooms:
