How to Create a Pinterest-Worthy Wedding

Over the last few years, it seems like every bride (even those not yet engaged!) has been planning their dream wedding on Pinterest. And although creating a wedding worthy of being re-pinned time and time again isn’t the easiest task, it’s not quite impossible, either.

If you’re hoping to do more than simply use Pinterest for inspiration and hope to someday find your wedding being shared on one of the most used search engines in the world today, be sure to follow these steps.

Spend Time Exploring Ideas

Even if you have had an idea in mind for years, you might find that once the time to plan arrives, you could be surprised to discover you like themes or colors in a totally different style than you had always imagined! Don’t be afraid to take your time and explore these ideas right now. This is the fun part! Narrowing down too soon could lead you to regret it later, and there’s no fun in that feeling. I would highly suggest follow wedding planners, photographers, florists, and other wedding vendors. They most likely will have already curated boards for you to draw inspiration from and ideas for you to pin. I personally have almost 30 boards that can help you plan your wedding. Select a Theme

Although not required by all weddings, some of the most pinned weddings out there are ones that had a truly out-of-the-box idea and ran with it in some of the coolest ways! Find something you’re passionate about, or something that speaks to who you and your loved one are when you’re together, and see what you come up with. Your wedding planner, florist, and even your photographer will have good input or ideas to add once you deliver a base theme.

Hire the Right Vendors

This can’t possibly be emphasized enough: you get what you pay for. Although you might know a few friends who are looking to gain some experience in the industry, your wedding day only comes once in a lifetime and isn’t something for others to “try out” for the first time. If you truly want a wedding worthy of Pinterest (or any publications for that matter!), find an experienced photographer, florist, and coordinator/designer to create and capture your wedding in a way that will bring tears to your eyes every time you look back on the day — in the best way of course!

Create Boards

Instead of creating one board with everything wedding related compiled into it, separate your ideas, themes, and to do list items into their own boards. This will help you stay more organized on Pinterest, and you can delete boards after you no longer need them (and so you don’t keep re-thinking your final decision). Collaborate with Others

Share your boards and pins with your vendors, family and bridesmaids to fine-tune your ideas! Allow them to add pins they see that might fit your style as well. Or, if you are really hoping to flatter your wedding vendors, borrow ideas from the work they’ve already done and shared on Pinterest and tell them what you loved about it!

Highly recommend Roots Floral Design - absolutely beautiful!

“Kaytee is an absolute GEM! She has so much passion and care for what she does, that you feel like she's a friend more than a vendor. She walks you through each step of the floral process with organization, examples, cost, and detail -- all things that make my detail-oriented heart happy. The end result far exceeded anything we could have hoped for or imagined. ALL. THE. GREENERY. Future brides, run, don't walk to Roots for your wedding. From start to finish, she took care of every single floral need to make our day positively beautiful.”

-Laura, Summer 2019 Wedding

FROM START TO FINISH, SHE TOOK CARE OF EVERY SINGLE FLORAL NEED.

"Kaytee became so much more than a vendor for us. The first time I met her I felt as though I met a long lost friend. She was the very first vendor I chose for the wedding (even before the venue) and she lived up to all my expectations and went above and beyond.  Each time I met with her I felt confident that she completely comprehended my wants and would fashion them into something that looks put together, yet natural. The day-of she silently transformed a bland rustic space into an enchanting, romantic barn. I couldn't have asked for anything more beautiful or unique."

"Kaytee was so great to work with!!! I provided her with some floral inspirations from Pinterest and Instagram but gave her a lot of free rein coming up with the flowers for our wedding and she went above and beyond expectations. Our photographer was obsessed with all the bouquets and we got so many great pictures of them! She did such a good job making my smaller budget work to make high impact arrangements. She's also the sweetest person to be around!"
